The Poetry of
Michael Lanahan
Michael Lanahan… biography
Michael Lanahan, born of an Irish father and English
mother, is now a published poet and author. He
began writing at an early age, and has over
six hundred poems to his credit, though tragically,
some were lost in a house fire several years
ago. Like many others, Michael finds
writing therapeutic and relaxing. His
style is greatly influenced by the classics,
with a tendency towards romanticism, which
in this day and age one finds refreshing.
After spending several years in the Fleet Air
Arm, Michael now lives on the south coast
of England with his mistress, the sea. He
loves all things nautical and is a keen sailor;
his other interests are many, they include
philosophy, reading, photography, Latin and
ballroom dancing, and as well as this he
serves on several committees. Although
he is retired, and admits to being in the
late autumn of his years, as you can see
Michael is always busy with something, his
heart is forever in spring.
We leave you with a few words from Michael himself…
“Love
is an island of fantasy,
Life
is the mainland of reality,
Friendship
is a bridge between the two”
