A Better Song.

If the cause is worth the battle if horizons are enlarged,

If your sword is worth it's mettle tilt your lance and make the charge,

Don't regret for giving quarter take the higher ground you seek,

Don with pride your robes and mortar drink of Shakespeare Blake and Keats,

If the lessons worth the learning if the hunger is intense,

If scholastic heart is burning let your passions circumvent,

Never shrink from your endeavours give clear view to your ideals,

Weld your thirst and will together put the testing to your steel,

Add some faith to your achieving let your reasoning have voice,

Never doubt your own believing the gift of learning offers choice,

Stand with pride upon your laurels learn to sing a better song,

Wisdom comes within these morals omnicompetent and strong,

Learn to sing a better song.
