Mike Moor
Mike Moor’s art reflects a love of the German graphic tradition from Schongauer and Grien to the Expressionists, and of artists as diverse as Goya, Bacon, Boyd, and Baselitz. This influence is evident as he explores the human condition in work often morbid yet suffused with mystery and hope.
Painting:
I see the paintings as visual refuges as well as depictions of virgin places. The fact that they are visions of wilderness with nature humbling the unseen human presence is to re-instate a natural order. They are predominately potential new starts, arcadia in waiting.
