I am a ceramicist, living and working in Brighton. My work is based on my fascination with plant life, in particular, seedpods, fruiting bodies and the internal workings of flowers.
I work in white stoneware, and most of my work starts off by being thrown on the wheel, after this I alter and model onto it. I like the immediacy of the wheel, it keeps the work fresh and less laboured.
Lately, my work has been growing in size to fit into exterior as well as interior environments, and as it is high fired and robust, my large pieces will sit happily in the garden all year round.
During the Brighton festival I have an Open House as part of the Fiveways Artists Group, so come along and have a look!
