Diane Kraudelt
I began drawing when I could hold a pencil. I was trained for commercial art work before graphics design was a profession. Today, I specialize in striving to capture the "essence" of the sitter or landscape or in setting a mood with my story-telling scenes. Contrasts in color and style are used to capture this essence of each subject. Energy of a movement or the stillness of time are expressed in my work.
My style is contemporary and spontaneous. Painting with a loose, rapid style, I capture my feelings the moment paint strikes my canvas. My love for experimentation and discovery challenges me to explore the endless possibilities of many media including oils, oil pastels, and watercolor. I see the world in my own way and have been influenced by the Impressionists, especially Cezanne.
A member of several art organizations in the United States, I exhibit my work in galleries, businesses, and private collections.
Current exhibits and examples of my work are displayed here, on the 1066 Art Gallery website, and on my Web site,
www.SandhillsArtist.com.
